Unfiled Tax Returns and Unpaid Income Taxes

If you owe the IRS, you cannot qualify for an outstanding IRS Tax Resolution program unless you are tax compliant.

You will have additional penalties and interest added to your tax balances

You will not be able to resolve your tax debts and stop collection activity

You will automatically default ANY tax resolution program in the future without being tax compliant

Unfiled & Unpaid Income Taxes

Letters for unfiled tax returns or unpaid taxes can begin with the IRS or States…when one taxing authority starts the collection process, other may follow. The IRS typically requires that the last six years of tax returns have been filed to qualify for a tax resolution program. States can require more than six years.

Filing unfiled tax returns is the first step in becoming tax compliant. When a tax resolution program is in place, a taxpayer must remain tax complaint by filing their returns and paying any tax due on time every year – failure to do so will terminate their tax resolution program with the IRS and all unpaid taxes will become due. When one taxing authority starts the collection process, others may follow.
